Chapter 3 - East Central Puget Sound
The world-class city of Seattle lines the shores of Elliott Bay in this portion of Puget Sound. Bell Harbor Marina and Elliott Bay Marina both provide a front row seat to all the downtown action – sports, Broadway style shows, shopping, five star dining, the Space Needle, Pioneer Square, Pike Place Market and more. To the north, Shilshole Bay Marina is close to Ballard’s great boutiques and cafes, as well as attractions like Golden Gardens Park and the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks. Passing through the locks, boaters can cruise fresh water Lake Union, enjoying the local color of Fishermen’s Terminal, the houseboats, seaplanes, and waterfront parks. On into Lake Washington, waterfront parks with floats for moorage are found in cities like Kirkland and Renton. This area is just made for boating! Amazing waterways, great location, tons of things to see & do, and all of the marine supplies, services, and facilities a mariner could possibly need.
